At a juncture when #Bluesattai is being trolled for his comments/video review on the newly released Vivegam movie of Ajith Kumar Alias Thala….I picked up a movie which left me at the edge of my seat…
Thanks once again to Herotalkies membership. Weekend starts of with a bang with Vikram Vedha.
3 Stories told by a Gangster to an encounter specialist. I am not sure what Pushkar / Gayathri duo were thinking when they started making this movie .But the risk has paid off well. I mean very well!
Madhavan yet again picks up a not so traditional role and oozes with acting talent as groomed by the likes of Mani Ratnam, Kamal Hassan and Balachander. An encounter cop in search of a Don who happens to crawl into his custody all by himelf leaves Vikram baffled until he realises its all part of a game. A game which is a quest for both Vikram and Vedha.
Movie starts off with an animated feature explaining what is Vikramaditya and the Vetal story…which later turns out to be the crux of the storyline.
Caught between the riddles of a riddler (Vedha) who is a well known gangster and Vikram being part of the special force setup to capture Vedha adds spice to the story
The best part of the movie is the storytelling and it gels well with the suspense that is provided by the director duo. Subtle moments leave you smiling. Kathir, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar make an impact.
Shraddha Srinath does a good role after being in a less noticed role in Kaatru Veliyidai. The chemistry seems to work out well between Madhavan and Shraddha Srinath and would love to watch the duo on screen again.
Now the whole movie revolves around two people Vikramaditya and the Vethal. The Vethal played as Vedha by ‘Vijay Sethupathi’ is the key ingredient in the movie. Carrying his role in great grace Vijay Sethupathi gives you the flavour of emotion as a brother, naughtiness as a small time crook, aggressive action as a Don and finally a schemer to both find his brother’s killer and punish the lot who creates havoc.
The guy who comes in naduvula konjam pakkatha kanom movie along with Vijay Sethupathi – Vigneswaran makes a mark.
I would say all in all a good movie by the whole team of VV. Waiting for more such good storytelling. The director duo after Oram Po/ Va quarter cutting which did not get great acclaim has made a comeback with this grand success…Watch It! You wont repent…
